Cookie policy

Effective 5 October 2026. This page explains small files and similar technologies used by Navlin. It describes their purpose, normal lifespan, and your choices. Optional measurement is not required to read editorial content.

1. What cookies do

A cookie is a small value stored by a browser for a site. It can remember a preference or help a service understand technical use. Cookies do not reveal the content of your private files. Browser settings can remove or block them.

2. Essential session cookie

Essential services may use a session identifier to maintain security and routing. It normally expires when the browser session closes or within 24 hours. It is used to keep the site functioning, not to create an advertising profile. Blocking it may affect forms or navigation.

3. Preference cookie

A preference record may remember whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. The Navlin choice record is called cookieChoice and lasts up to 180 days. It stores the choice rather than your name. You can delete it through browser controls.

4. Analytics

If offered and accepted, limited analytics may record page views, approximate device category, and performance events. Analytics records are retained for up to 14 months. We use aggregated reports to improve clarity and speed. We do not intentionally combine analytics with health information.

5. Advertising

Navlin does not place behavioural advertising cookies as part of ordinary editorial reading. If a future advertising arrangement changes this, the policy will be updated before deployment. Any partner must disclose its own technology and choices. Rejecting optional cookies must not block basic access.

6. Local storage

The consent interface may use browser local storage to remember cookieChoice. This is not a marketing database. Clearing site data removes the record and the banner may appear again. The value contains only accept or reject.

7. Third parties

Embedded media or external links may set their own technologies after you interact with them. Those providers control their cookies and policies. We keep embeds limited to reduce unexpected tracking. Read their notices before activating optional content.

8. Your choices

Choose Accept or Reject in the banner. You can also block, delete, or inspect cookies in your browser. Some browsers provide global privacy controls. Choices may need to be repeated on a different device or browser.

9. Retention and security

Cookie values contain limited information and are protected by normal browser and transport safeguards. Server logs related to cookie consent are retained for up to 90 days. We review cookie usage when the site changes. No online measure is perfectly risk-free.

10. Contact and complaints

Questions can be sent to Jalan Sudirman No. 18, Senayan, South Jakarta 12190, Indonesia or +62 21 7123 8945. State the browser and page if reporting a technical issue. We aim to respond within 30 days. Regulatory rights remain available under applicable Indonesian law.

11. Revision record

This version was issued 5 October 2026. The previous review occurred 12 August 2026. A future change will state its effective date. We will not silently expand optional tracking.

Cookie inventory and choices

The session identifier is normally a first-party operational cookie created when a form, navigation state, or security process needs continuity. It does not intentionally contain your name or the text of your enquiry, and it normally disappears when the browser session ends or within 24 hours. A security control may create a short-lived token that expires sooner when the request is complete. These cookies cannot be used to make the editorial pages unreadable merely because optional measurement has been declined.

The preference record cookieChoice records whether optional cookies were accepted, rejected, or left undecided. It is designed to last up to 180 days and is then requested again so that the choice is not treated as permanent. If you clear site data, use another browser, or change devices, the preference may need to be selected again. The record does not store a name, telephone number, or contact message.

If analytics is offered and accepted, a service provider may receive a page address, event time, approximate device category, and broad performance information. The configuration is intended to reduce unnecessary collection and to avoid combining analytics with contact correspondence. Analytics information is retained for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated according to the provider’s controls. You can withdraw consent through the cookie interface or by deleting the relevant site data.

Navlin does not place behavioural advertising cookies during ordinary editorial reading. A future sponsored arrangement would require a separate review of the technology, disclosure, consent settings, and applicable Indonesian requirements before deployment. Rejecting optional cookies would not be used as a reason to deny access to ordinary articles. External websites reached through a link may use their own cookies, and their notices apply independently.

Browsers commonly provide controls to block all cookies, remove selected cookies, or ask before storage. Blocking essential cookies may affect a contact form, a security check, or a saved preference, while blocking analytics does not prevent ordinary reading. Some privacy tools also limit local storage, pixels, or similar technologies. Navlin treats those choices as a signal not to rely on optional measurement where the signal is technically available.

For questions about a cookie, consent record, or privacy choice, contact Navlin at Jalan Sudirman No. 18, Senayan, South Jakarta 12190, Indonesia, or +62 21 7123 8945. Requests are normally acknowledged within 7 calendar days and answered within 30 calendar days when they require an investigation. This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026; material changes will appear with a new effective date and a concise change note.

Cookies are small browser records and are not the same as the content of a contact message. A first-party session cookie may support a form token, security check, or temporary navigation state; its usual lifetime is the browser session and it is not intended to identify a person by name. The cookie named cookieChoice may record an optional preference for up to 180 days. A future configuration should document any additional name, purpose, domain, path, and expiry before it is enabled.

Essential storage is used because the website cannot reliably provide a secure form or remember a privacy choice without it. Optional analytics storage is used only where the reader has made an appropriate choice, and it may be disabled without removing access to articles. A provider may receive a pseudonymous event identifier, page path, approximate device category, and event time. Navlin does not intentionally place a reader’s name, phone number, or message text in an analytics cookie.

Analytics data is normally retained for no more than 14 months, while consent records are reviewed after 180 days. Security tokens expire when the relevant request ends or within 24 hours, whichever occurs first. Browser deletion, private browsing, a new device, or a changed consent setting can make a previous preference unavailable. When that happens, the site may ask again rather than silently assuming consent.

Readers can review, delete, or block cookies through browser settings and can withdraw an optional choice through the site’s privacy controls where available. Blocking all storage can affect form submission, fraud checks, or the visibility of a preference message. A browser’s Global Privacy Control or similar signal will be respected where the site and its technical providers can reliably interpret it. External links and embedded services may set their own cookies, and their policies should be read separately.

Cookie questions and requests for a description of current providers may be sent to Jalan Sudirman No. 18, Senayan, South Jakarta 12190, Indonesia, or +62 21 7123 8945. Navlin normally acknowledges a request within 7 calendar days and aims to answer within 30 calendar days. This policy was reviewed on 5 October 2026, with the preceding review completed on 15 May 2026. Material changes will identify the affected cookie category and effective date.
